libmimedir-gnome-dev software package provides MIME Directory Profile implementation [development], you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libmimedir-gnome-dev
libmimedir-gnome-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libmimedir-gnome-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libmimedir-gnome-dev *
You will get with libmimedir-gnome-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
